What does NPK 8-2-2 mean?
NPK indicates the ratio between the three main nutritional elements:
- N stands for nitrogen: important for the development of stems and green leaves.
- P stands for phosphorus: plays a role in energy transfer and root development.
- K stands for potassium: supports, among other things, the water balance and various processes in the plant.
With an 8-2-2 ratio, Cellmax Bio 8-2-2 places the emphasis on nitrogen. As a result, this organic plant food is particularly suitable for periods when plants are growing actively and require a lot of nitrogen. The product can also be used when plants show signs of a nitrogen deficiency, after other possible causes have been ruled out.
Plant-based nutrition for both plant and soil
In organic farming, soil life plays an important role. Organic nutrients are converted by bacteria and other micro-organisms into forms that plants can absorb through their roots.
Cellmax Bio 8-2-2 therefore not only provides nutrients for the plant, but also plant-based components that support soil life. Active soil life helps to break down organic matter and gradually release nutrients.
This action differs from directly absorbable mineral nutrition. Organic plant nutrition works via natural processes in the soil and therefore requires a healthy growing medium, sufficient oxygen and appropriate moisture levels.
Without animal by-products
Many organic fertilisers contain raw materials of animal origin, such as blood meal, bone meal or other by-products. Cellmax Bio 8-2-2 is made from plant-based ingredients and, according to Cellmax, contains no animal waste or added preservatives.
This makes the product suitable for growers who consciously choose a plant-based feeding schedule and want to know precisely which types of raw materials they are adding to their plants and soil.
The ingredients are extracted from potato and sugar beets without the addition of animal waste and preservatives. By using only vegetable ingredients and ferments, this product is rich in natural sugars, amino acids and trace elements. As a result, BIO 8-2-2 ensures healthy soil life and stable plant growth. The risk of over-fertilization is minimal, because this natural food contains few salts. BIO 8-2-2 is also suitable for plants with a nitrogen deficiency.
Cellmax Bio 8-2-2 is certified by Control Union. This makes it suitable as input for organic agriculture and horticulture on the basis of EC Regulations 889/2008 and 834/2007.
When do you use Bio 8-2-2?
Due to its relatively high nitrogen content, Bio 8-2-2 is particularly suitable during the active growth phase. During this period, a plant develops roots, leaves and stems, and the need for nitrogen is generally greater than during the flowering and fruiting phase.
